Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream or coconut cream
  • ½ teaspoon orange extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon orange zest optional
  • 2 tablespoons powdered erythritol or monk fruit sweetener
  • 1 scoop vanilla collagen or vanilla protein powder optional
  • 4 –6 ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon MCT oil or coconut oil optional for added fats
  • A few drops of natural orange food coloring optional for color

Equipment

  • 1 High-speed blender
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 Citrus zester (optional)
  • 1 Long spoon or spatula for scraping the blender
  • 1 Glass or jar for serving
  • 1 Straw (optional)

Method

  1. Add the almond milk to the blender as your liquid base. This prevents thicker ingredients from sticking.
  2. Add heavy cream or coconut cream, ensuring it blends smoothly with the almond milk.
  3. Add the orange extract and vanilla extract, adjusting the amount based on how strong you prefer the flavor.
  4. If using, add orange zest for a fresh citrus aroma.
  5. Add sweetener of choice (erythritol or monk fruit) to reach desired sweetness level.
  6. Add collagen or protein powder if you want a thicker, more nutritious smoothie.
  7. Add MCT oil or coconut oil for extra keto-friendly fats and energy (optional).
  8. Add ice cubes to provide thickness and chill.
  9. (Optional) Add a drop or two of orange food coloring for a vibrant appearance.
  10. Blend on high speed for 30–45 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  11. Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness or flavoring as needed.
  12. Pour into a chilled glass and serve immediately.
