Ingredients
  

  • 4 pork chops boneless or bone-in
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 4 –5 garlic cloves minced or sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon paprika optional
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme or oregano optional
  • ¼ cup cooking cream or broth optional for sauce
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Method
 

Step 1: Prepare the Pork Chops
  1. Remove pork chops from the refrigerator 15–20 minutes before cooking. Allowing them to reach near room temperature promotes even cooking. Pat the chops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, which helps achieve a golden sear.
  2. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and optional spices.
Step 2: Heat the Skillet
  1. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add butter or oil and allow it to heat fully. Properly heated fat prevents sticking and ensures a beautiful crust.
Step 3: Sear the Pork Chops
  1. Place the pork chops in the skillet without overcrowding. Cook undisturbed for several minutes until a golden-brown crust forms. Flip using tongs and repeat on the other side.
  2. Avoid frequent flipping, as this disrupts browning.
Step 4: Add Garlic
  1. Reduce heat to medium. Add garlic to the skillet, allowing it to cook gently in the rendered fat. Stir carefully to prevent burning.
Step 5: Optional Sauce
  1. If making a sauce, add cream or broth. Stir gently, scraping flavorful bits from the pan. Simmer briefly.
Step 6: Finish Cooking
  1. Cook until pork reaches safe internal temperature (about 63°C / 145°F). Remove from heat promptly.
Step 7: Rest the Meat
  1. Allow chops to rest for 5 minutes before serving to retain juices.
