Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or coconut cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 –2 tablespoons powdered erythritol or preferred keto-friendly sweetener
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract or fresh mint leaves, about 5–6 leaves
  • 1 scoop chocolate or vanilla keto protein powder optional
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • Whipped cream sugar-free, for garnish
  • Sugar-free chocolate shavings or cocoa nibs optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Blender or high-speed blender
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 Knife (if using fresh mint)
  • 1 Glass or serving cup
  • 1 Straw (optional)

Method

Step 1: Prepare Ingredients
  1. Measure all liquid ingredients, cocoa powder, sweetener, and mint. If using fresh mint, wash the leaves thoroughly and chop them roughly.
Step 2: Add Ingredients to Blender
  1. In a high-speed blender, combine almond milk, heavy cream or coconut cream, cocoa powder, sweetener, peppermint extract (or fresh mint), ice cubes, and protein powder if using.
Step 3: Blend Until Smooth
  1. Blend on high speed for 30–60 seconds until smooth and creamy. Ensure no large ice chunks remain, and the mint is fully incorporated.
Step 4: Taste and Adjust Sweetness
  1. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if necessary. Add a little more powdered sweetener if desired. Blend again briefly to combine.
Step 5: Serve
  1. Pour the smoothie into a tall glass. Top with sugar-free whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa nibs. Serve immediately for the best texture.
