Ingredients

For the Stir Fry
  • Flank steak or sirloin steak
  • Broccoli florets
  • Avocado oil or sesame oil
  • Garlic cloves
  • Fresh ginger
  • Green onions
For the Keto Stir Fry Sauce
  • Coconut aminos or sugar-free soy sauce
  • Beef broth
  • Rice vinegar
  • Sesame oil
  • Erythritol or monk fruit sweetener
  • Xanthan gum optional thickener
  • Red pepper flakes optional

Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet or wok
  • 1 Sharp knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Measuring spoons
  • 1 Measuring cups
  • 1 Small mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Tongs or spatula

Method

Step 1: Prepare the Beef
  1. Thinly slice the steak against the grain into bite-sized strips.
  2. Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Step 2: Make the Stir Fry Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together coconut aminos, beef broth, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sweetener, and red pepper flakes.
  2. If using xanthan gum, sprinkle a very small pinch into the sauce while whisking to avoid clumping.
  3. Set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Broccoli
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of avocado oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
  3. Remove broccoli from the pan and set aside.
Step 4: Cook the Beef
  1. Add another tablespoon of oil to the same pan.
  2. Add beef slices in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
  3. Avoid overcrowding the pan—cook in batches if necessary.
Step 5: Add Aromatics
  1. Add garlic and ginger to the pan with the beef.
  2. Stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 6: Combine and Finish
  1. Return broccoli to the pan with the beef.
  2. Pour in the prepared sauce.
  3. Toss everything together and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
  4. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions.
