Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450 g frozen edamame in pods
  • 8 –10 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon salt for boiling water
  • 1 –2 teaspoons coarse sea salt or flaky salt for finishing

  • Colander or strainer
  • Measuring spoons
  • Slotted spoon (optional)
  • Serving bowl

Method
 

Bring Water to a Boil:
  1. Fill a large pot with 8–10 cups of water and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring to a rolling boil.
Add Edamame:
  1. Carefully add the frozen edamame pods directly to the boiling water. No need to thaw beforehand.
Cook the Edamame:
  1. Boil for 4–5 minutes, or until the pods turn bright green and the beans inside are tender but not mushy.
Drain Well:
  1. Drain the edamame immediately using a colander. Shake gently to remove excess water.
Season with Sea Salt:
  1. Transfer edamame to a serving bowl. Sprinkle evenly with coarse sea salt while still warm.
Serve Immediately:
  1. Serve hot or warm for the best flavor and texture.
